Abdul Karim Ahmad Rahim

Abdul Karim has over 33 years experience in the insurance industry involving in risk engineering, risk management, claim advisory, underwriting and reinsurance.

 

Abdul Karim has experience relating to the construction & operation of the onshore oil & gas industry, power industry, cement industry, automotive industry as well as other specialty areas such as major infrastructure projects such as Pan Borneo, marine equipment and oil & gas offshore assets. 

 

His experience includes risk profiling, insurance contract review with the banks, negotiation with brokers & reinsurers to meet the company risk management requirement either as a leader or followers. The landmark of his career is the procurement and arranging insurance coverage for the site preparation of Pengerang in 2013 followed by various oil & gas plants and pipelines until the handover of the Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in 2020.

 

Abdul Karim graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from University Malaya. While with the previous organizations, he had attended numerous technical and insurance courses in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, United Kingdom, Germany, Vietnam and the United State of America.
